What is Cultured Stone?

Cultured stone veneer is a durable, beautiful man-made concrete product that endures a life-time (both indoors and outdoors), while looking and feeling like natural stone cut fresh from a rock quarry. Designed with coloring techniques to satisfy even most keen-eyed homeowner and expertly hand-dyed and handled by trained artisans, RockSolid Cultured Stone offers homeowners a product that looks more realistic than 90% of other stone manufacturers.

Southern Ledge
Length: 5" - 18"

Chiseled Rockface
Length: 5" - 18"
Height: 3” and 6”
Thickness: 0.75” - 1.5”

Stack Stone
Length: 5" - 18"
Height: 1.5" - 4.5"

Hackett

Corner Description

• Our premium outside corners are 90-degree L-shaped corners meant to create a polished, completed appearance to your project, ensuring that your columns, posts, and house corners make a bold statement.
• Corner pieces are measured by the “linear foot”—which simply means you need to calculate the total height of all the corners in your project and add them together. For example, a 5 ft tall column with 4 corners would need “20 linear ft” of corners.

Corner Piece Sizes

• Height - 1”-4.5” tall (for each particular style)
• First return - 3-4” long
• Second return - 8-11” long

Inside corners are created during the installation by butting the flat stones up against one another.

What is RockSolid Cultured stone?

• RockSolid cultured stone is a man-made product that looks and feels like real, natural stone.
• This is a premium cement-based product mixed with premium, lightweight aggregates, dyed with a triple-tier coloring system that makes our product look and feel like natural stone from an actual quarry.
• All stone products are manufactured in-house at our bespoke facility in Dunn, North Carolina.

Standard Practice

You will need to order extra material in case of waste during the installation process. Depending on the cuts your project requires, order between 7-10% extra material.

Substrates

Our stone must be installed on a masonry surface. The following surfaces are acceptable:

• Metal lath with scratch coat
• Cement board (with or without a scratch coat)
• Block or cinderblock wall

Mortar

• S-type mortar and sand mixed on the jobsite
• Pre-mixed mortar (S-type pre-mixed mixed with sand in the proper ratios)
• Exterior-grade thinset
• Techniseal StickyStone

Sealers

• Our cultured stone does not require a sealer to maintain its longevity.
• A variety of sealers are available on the market to give the installed stone a unique look, including a glossy and semi-glossy look.
• Consult your local building supply for the best option available to achieve the look you need

Shipping via FedEx LTL

• Orders under 2800 square ft (or 25,700 lbs) ship via Fedex LTL. Once Fedex picks up your order at our warehouse, there is typically a 2-5 business day transit time (depending on your location). FedEx will deliver at your jobsite with a boxtruck (or tractor trailer depending on availability) equipped with a liftgate and pallet jack.
• A delivery appointment comes standard with your shipment, which means you can choose the time of day you want your stone delivered. Once the order ships, you will receive either a call or text message from FedEx to select a 2-hour window for that delivery. Signature is required upon delivery.
• Up to 3% damage may occur during a FedEx shipment. If you do not plan on using any broken pieces (easily accomplished with a simple cut), you will need to compensate by ordering 2% extra for your material.
• Breakage beyond 3% will be covered by RockSolid Veneers. Contact us with your photos and your story, and we will ensure your situation is made right.

Shipping via dedicated truckload

• For orders above 2800 square ft (or 25,700 lbs), your material may need to ship via a dedicated flatbed truck.
• You will need to provide a forklift (or skidsteer with forks) at the jobsite to unload, or we can make arrangements to rent a forklift in your area and have it delivered to your jobsite (subject to availability) for an extra charge.

Packaging

• Stone is shipped on 40” x 48” pallets, packaged on cardboard layers (at roughly 12 square ft per layer).
• Each pallet is wrapped in a tight-fitting, 6 MIL heat-shrink blanket that ensures your stone remains safe during shipment.
• A full pallet (17 layers/204 square ft) weighs approximately 1700-1900 lbs, depending on the style.
• If your order does not fill up a complete pallet(s), some of your material will be packaged on partial pallets.
