Approved substrates:

  • Concrete (poured or tilt-up)
  • Cinder block / CMU
  • Cement board (HardieBacker or similar)
  • Metal lath over weather-resistant barrier

Never install directly onto:

  • Bare drywall
  • Bare plywood / OSB
  • Painted or sealed surfaces
  • Wet wood or rotted substrate
